About my Editorial feature

I have decided to launch a new feature on this site. I've called it Editorial and it is inspired by the feature of the same name on Zone Zero, the photography website by Pedro Meyer. His December 2009 piece about the plethora of photographs captured my imagination and I decided to do something similar.

My Editorial is being launched to coincide with the long-delayed redesign and improvement of my aidan.co.uk site in December 2009. After reading the Editorial by Pedro Meyer on his influential photography site zonezero, I decided I wanted to do something similar.

I will write and give my opinion on issues to do with my two areas of expertise: photography and languages as well as other subjects.

I want to express my viewpoint and opinions in a feature that appears on a regular basis. I will aim to write an Editorial every 2 or 3 weeks or whenever I have a topic I want to speak out on that's close to the main themes of the site.

It will not be a blog. I have mixed feelings about the blog as a medium of expression, and I have also had some technical difficulties with running blogging software on my site. This Editorial uses the plain and simple publishing system used by my site since it was launched in 2003.
