The Gentry Grooming Co is a Manchester-based company founded by Adele Lock, whom I met on the radio programme Talk of the Town, with Tony Wilson on Radio Manchester (5 May 2007). The company specialises in grooming services for the discerning and style-conscious modern man.

The Gentry Grooming company have outlets on Blackfriars St, at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel and in Didsbury, south Manchester. In mid-2007 they are in the process of expanding, and have gained a lot of favourable publicity as an example of a very successful local company.

A detailed description of the services they offer is given on the website. It's not easy to sum up in a few words, but as Adele insists, it's not about 'fake tans'. The Gentry Grooming Company places an emphasis on professionalism, high standards and personal attention. The image of the company is inspired by the traditional gentlemans club, but updated with contemporary flair.

On Monday 2 June 2007 their new website is launched. The site was developed by Bernard McCabe of Dreamscape Solutions www.dreamscapesolutions.co.ukusing graphics created by Jan Ranuch of The Graphics Department www.thegraphicsdept.co.uk. I'll be reviewing the site in more detail once it's launched.

On Thursday 28 June I attended the launch party for the new website, held at the glitzy Manchester 235 casino, housed in the former Great Northern Goods Warehouse. Many Manchester personalities were present including actor John Thomson. I spoke to Jan Ranuch and Bernard McCabe as well as Adele herself, now looking radiantly pregnant.

There was a showing of the Gentry Grooming company's amusing publicity film, set in a medieval castle with an executioner. I won't say any more so as not to spoil the climax.

Photographer Joe Gardner was recording the event. I met him previously at the St Ann's Hospice Ladies Lunch, (29 Sept 2006).

This is an initial article which will be expanded later.
