The view north east from the Manchester Wheel at its highest point with the CIS Tower on the left to Skyline Central apartment tower on the right. In the lower part of the picture is the roof of the Printworks. In the distance are the hills above Rochdale.

The 'first wave' of tall buildings in Manchester occurred in the early 1960s. The 'second wave' came in the 1990s and 2000s.
