One of the newest style (post 2010) trams at Old Trafford station on the line to Altrincham. On the right is a blue warning sign for pedestrians: 'Tramway Look both ways'. The platform is located before the pedestrian crossing so that trams are always moving off slowly as they approach the crossing. On the northbound side the new platform is located to the south of the crossing, to the right. Metrolink is operated by Stagecoach and formerly by Serco. In 2011, the area around Stretford and along the line to Chorlton is an exciting place with the tram depot, new stations and equipment. It's great to see the Metrolink system developing and expanding and to see the re-use of the line through Chorlton that lay disused for 40 years.
