Picture: Night view of over Peter St Central Library from Radisson Hotel Manchester » Filename: ManRadFTHVBw9Y25.jpg

Night view from the fourteenth floor of the Radisson Edwardian Free Trade Hall hotel on Peter Street Manchester. We are looking along Peter Street towards St Peter's Square. On the left is Television House (1962) , in the centre the Central Library (1934) and in the distance, Portland Tower (1962). It is just possible to make out the illuminated sign at the bottom of PIccadilly Station Approach.

A very interesting view with some unusual angles on familiar buildings. Many thanks to the management at the Radisson Edwardian Free Trade Hall hotel for permission to take this photograph. For more information about this very impressive hotel, go to the official Radisson Edwardian Manchester City Centre Hotel page.

Technical details: Sony Alpha A350 digital SLR camera - It wasn't possible to shoot from the roof so this was taken through glass. Photgraphing through glass is not a problem as long as you can avoid reflections. It's possible to mask reflections by using your hand or some other device. I corrected this image for lens and perspective distortion. I decided to convert to monochrome as I think night time cityscapes often look better in black and white.
