Merseymouth by John Williams is a collection of tales from Liverpool present and past, based on the author's experience of life in the city on the Mersey. Many tales are interspersed with lyrics from the Beatles. There are also 37 'Opinion' pieces which also give the author's reactions to Liverpool-related issues. Author John Williams has used some of my photos, including this one of the Mersey Ferry leaving the Pier Head Sept 1999.

I laughed out loud at the antics of the Pier Head preachers and inept burglars of tales 1 and 2. Down-to-earth and erudite, tragic and comic, historical and contemporary the tales are highly readable, informative and entertaining, but above all they capture the Scouser attitude, accent and sense of humour.
