The memorial to Renshaw Street Chapel is situated in Roscoe Gardens on the street named Mount Pleasant. Renshaw St Chapel, built 1811 and vacated in 1899 is commemorated by this gazebo-like structure with pillars and two plaques.The writers William Roscoe (1753-1831) and Joseph Blanco White (1775-1841) are buried here. The monument was put up in 1904.

In Liverpool there sublime architecture of the past is often juxtaposed with banal eyesores of the present, as here. Set against the idealised classical gazebo on Mount Pleasant is Liverpool City Council's multi-storey car park of the same name.
