Pen-Y-Ghent hill overlooks the Ribble Valley north of Settle, North Yorkshire. Here it is seen from the where the Pennine Trail crosses the nearby road to the south east, with snow and stone wall. Pen-Y-Ghent is 57 miles (92km) north of Manchester.

This is a Welsh-sounding name, though the location is England. The name has survived from the times when a Celtic language similar to Welsh was spoken all over Britain. A spooky reminder of England's Celtic past.
