Impression of the old north of England created using elements taken from today's environment combined using digital montage, inspired by the drawings of the artist Trevor Grimshaw. In addition to the rooftop church I have added chimneys and another church steeple on the right.

Trevor Grimshaw retrospective was at Stockport Art Gallery 24th April - 22 May. An exhibition in Manchester is planned for 2005.

This image tries to recapture the atmosphere of the old north of England as I remember it from my childhood, imitating the style of Trevor Grimshaw's drawings, which are vastly superior to the attempt shown here. Still it's always worth experimenting and I may try to develop the idea further.
