Punk, sex, sedition and the Sex Pistols. Punk was the guerilla pop movement which in the mid-70s breathed fire into popular music after years of stagnation. The exhibition brings together posters, photographs, ephemera, clothes, record sleeves, fanzines and lots more. A specially created section documents punk in Manchester. The Urbis punk exhibition is an opportunity for those who lived through it to rediscover long lost gigs, bands, venues and people. For those who didn't it's an opportunity to find out more about punk, which was important in the development of urban culture and Manchester music. Well worth the £3 entrance fee.
