The site of the gigantic statue of Stalin is situated above Prague to the north of the Vltava River. The 17000 tonne statue portrayed Stalin and a group of workers and was unveiled in 1955. The statue was removed by the Communist government on the orders of Moscow in 1962, after Stalin fell out of favour. In 1991 a metronome artwork was put up on the site.

Even though 42 years have passed since the removal of the hated Stalin statue, it still has a strong presence.
