I created this graphic based on a photograph of barbed wire on one of the fences, part of Hötensleben Memorial to the GDR border.
I pasted a neutral grey into the sky area. The barbed wire forms wavy lines which seem to echo the landscape - perhaps the graphic could be developed further to make more use of this. At the bottom is the latticework fence that was one of several barriers forming part of the infamous border that kept the GDR and the Soviet-dominated Eastern Bloc sealed off from the West.
