On the 9th of November 1989 the GDR
border was opened up to allow people from the east to cross to the west for the first
time in 28 years. On the 31st of December 1989 thousands of people came to the
Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to celebrate New Year.
Berlin 1989 was the most exciting New Year
Celebration in my whole life. I recorded an audio documentary with photographs and
learning materials, which I used with my A Level German students at South Trafford
College.
