'Shalechet' is in memory of the Holocaust as well as all victims of war and violence. Museum visitors walk on the metal faces which lie on the floor of the 'Memory Void' (a more accurate translation would be 'Empty space of Memorial')

'Shalechet' erinnert an den Holocaust sowie alle Opfer von Krieg und Gewalt. Museumsbesucher treten auf den Metallgesichtern, die auf dem Boden der 'Leerstelle des Gedenkens' liegen.

When you walk on the 'leaves' the metal pieces vibrate with a deafening sound which echoes against the concrete walls of the shaft. This an experience you don't forget easily.

Wenn man auf die 'Blätter' tritt, vibrieren die Metallstücke mit einem ohrenbetäubenden Lärm, der an den Betonwänden des Schachts wiederhallt. Das ist eine Erfahrung, die man nicht leicht vergißt.
