Dresden-based Eberhard Burger is famous as the man in charge of the reconstruction of the Frauenkirche Dresden. He has been working on the project since 1990, and is regarded as one of the leading personalities in Dresden. Eberhard Burger has been interviewed countless times and has met leading politicians and heads of state.

Eberhard Burger told me his earliest memories of the Frauenkirche are from the 1950s when sheep grazed next to site. He first got involved with the project in 1990 and was appointed as Director of Construction in 1992. When asked if he was proud of what he had done, he said he was 'thankful'. The reconstruction is complete but the job is not finished. Herr Burger will be kept busy making minor alterations to the building, making a document of how the Frauenkirche was rebuilt, and creating a maintenance manual for use in future times.
