Neon signs around the Augustusplatz in the centre of Leipzig. Famous names include Coca Cola, Bosch, Commerzbank and Allianz. MDR is Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, the regional public broadcasting service for this part of Germany. The redevelopment of the Augustusplatz included a new 'Tiefgarage' or underground car park. In GDR times none of these signs was here, and the square was called Karl-Marx-Platz.

Neonschilder rund um den Augustusplatz im Zentrum Leipzigs, darunter Coca Cola, Bosch, Commerzbank und Allianz. MDR ist die regionale Rundfunkanstalt Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk. Beim Umbau des Augustusplatz enstand eine neue Tiefgarage. Zu DDR-Zeiten gab es diese Neonschilder natürlich nicht, und der Platz hieß Karl-Marx-Platz.

I had a few minutes to spare on the way back to the hotel, and decided to zoom in on the neon signs around the square.

Ich war gerade auf dem Weg zurück zu unserem Hotel und hatte einige Minuten frei. Ich habe mit dem Zoom-Objektiv die Neonschilder fotografiert, die runf um den Platz zu sehen sind. Ich legte sie mit Photoshop in einer Collage in der Art der 1930er Jahre zusammen.
