Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower and the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai display a remarkable similarity.

Both the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and the Dubai Burj Al Arab Hotel have a white framework with curved vertical elements, both have a pointed tip, both are in the form of a sale being filled by the wind. The Spinnaker Tower, completed 2004, is an observation tower open to the public, and now a symbol of Porsmouth. The Burj Al Arab Hotel, completed 2000, is a luxury hotel that's not open to the public, and now Dubai's most famous symbol.
