Bell Yard off Fleet Street on the border of the City of Westminster and the City of London. The entrance to the City is marked by the griffin statue on the left. The two red telephone boxes are of a larger type seen mainly in London. A young city worker looks to be making his way back to the office after a liquid lunch.

The red phone box is a symbol of Britain, as is the big red bus, and yet both of them have in recent years been threatened with extinction. Red phone boxes were retained or reinstated after public pressure, and the buses in London, though privately owned and operated, are still painted red, unlike in other parts of the country.
