A Metrolink tram on its way along Lower Mosley Street into Manchester city centre passes the Bridgewater Hall at dusk. The Bridgewater Hall was opened in 1997 and is the home of the Halle Orchestra. The motion of the tram is blurred by the long exposure of around half a second.

Both the Bridgewater Hall and Metrolink are symbolic of the development of Manchester in the 1990s. Metrolink was opened in 1992, and the Bridgewater Hall opened its doors five years later in 1997. It provided a new home for the Halle Orchestra. Here, a Metrolink tram is caught in blurred motion as it makes its way towards St Peters Square. The Bridgeweater Hall looks especially impressive at dusk time, when the interior lights come on, illuminating the huge plate glass windows at the front.
