The Expressnetworks, former Daily Express Building on Great Ancoats Street. It was constructed in the 1930s and has a sister building on Fleet Street London. The Expressnetworks building, former Daily Express Building, is one of Manchester's most revolutionary pieces of 20th century architecture. With its glass windows, simple facade and curved corners, it looks remarkably similar to many office building constructed in the early 21st century. But the startling fact is that this building was constructed in the 1930s. There is a similar building on Fleet Street in London. The Expressnetworks, aka Daily Express Building is an architectural symbol of Manchester, as well as a commemoration of Manchester's former pre-eminence in the newspaper industry About the photos This image is from the portfolio of Aidan O'Rourke photographer writer website publisher.
