Three Chinese characters on a red background add to the exotic air, contrasted by the road sign indicating Sheffield, Stockport and Droylsden. This billboard on Great Ancoats St is in an unusual square format, the only one in this area. Just next to it (inset) is a more conventional panoramic format billboard, showing the same ad, which has been cropped. This site is operated by Clearchannel Interesting to compare the two formats. The square format is bigger and more striking than the standard format, but can only be used with square format artwork. This one works superbly, allowing us to see the full length of the model's dress. This ad is a work of art in its own right but the question is: Will the square format sell more beer?
