Looking north (actually north north west) along Oxford Road from the roof of the Maths Building, demolished 2005-6. At the end of Oxford Road is the Central Library. The two towers are the Palace Hotel and the Town Hall. The Mancunian Way crosses Oxford Road lower left. In the distance is the hillier terrain to the north of Manchester, including Prestwich and Whitefield. The Maths Building enjoyed the best view of the city centre, and from an architectural point of view it was one of the better buildings on the Manchester University campus. It's a shame it had to go.
