Old industrial buildings at the junction of Pin Mill Brow and Great Ancoats Street are being demolished in July 2004. Manchester's skyline was once a forest of chimneys. Now only a few survive and once demolition on this site is complete there will be one less.
Decrepit, ugly, in the way, Manchester's old industrial buildings are a grim but proud reminder of how Manchester used to be. Should these buildings have been retained and renovated, or is it better to tear them down and build something new.
