We are looking above the taxis towards the town hall clock tower. Some of the Christmas Market stalls can be seen at the bottom of the frame. Sitting on a podium above the market is Manchester City Council's new Father Christmas which looks like a giant computer game alien dressed santa's clothes. It's just about as far removed as you can get from the real spirit of Santa Claus. The previous inflatable Santa that peeped over the town hall roof was much better.
