Rising above Cheetham Hill Road, the main northern route into Manchester, are No 1 Deansgate and the Beetham Hilton Tower. Both these new buildings are the work of architect Ian Simpson. Construction workers continue work on the Beetham Tower rooftop blade and the glazing is nearing completion. With no fittings installed yet, it's possible to see right through the building. On the left is the tower of St Chad's Roman Catholic Church, whose single pinnacle echoes Manchester Cathedral (Anglican) in the city centre.
