Looking from the footbridge over the Mancunian Way leading to Hulme Park, this is the view of the former industrial area along the river Medlock.

This former industrial area along the River Medlock has been redeveloped with an assortment of luxury apartment developments. Many new buildings follow the line of the river Medlock, which flows from right to left. The Beetham Hilton Tower dominates the scene in the centre left. The interesting thing about the layout of this area is that although most of the buildings are new, they are constructed around the existing street pattern, dating from the 19th century, and to follow the course of the meandering river Medlock.
