The tallest of the former UMIST buildings overlooking the Mancunian Way is now part of Manchester University and carries the new Manchester University logo. The marks from the older UMIST sign can still be seen on the concrete.

This is one of the most striking modern buildings in Manchester with its white concrete exterior and interlocking rectangular masses, but the new University of Manchester sign doesn't look quite right because the letters are white on white.
