Rainy dusk view of the Urbis Centre, Manchester's museum of the modern city. This photo was taken on the 4th of July 2002 not long after Urbis opened. Urbis closed on Saturday 27 March 2010 and reopened in 2012 as the National Football Museum. The loss of Urbis and its groundbreaking exhibitions on music and popular culture, was a big loss to Manchester with hidden negative consequences. This image was re-posted on the site on 3 March 2010, just a few days after the closure of Urbis.
