The M60 motorway is pictured here on 16 July 2000 not long before it opened. The viewpoint is from the A635 bridge to the west of Ashton-under-Lyne. This is part of the 'missing link' section of the M60 motorway between Denton in the east and Heaton Park in the north. It was scheduled to be complete by 1996 but wasn't opened until 2000.
