A selection of signs on display at Chester station. The logo of Northern Trains, the distinctive older style lights with the station name, the modern style Chester sign put up by operator Arriva Trains Wales, the Arriva logo and name in English and Welsh, and a no smoking sign in English and Welsh. It's interesting how the Welsh language has migrated across the border into England. Arriva Trains Wales - Trenau Arriva Cymru are the main operator for Chester, but they are based in Wales and so signs, displays and timetables are shown both in English and Welsh. 30 years ago Welsh was rarely seen on railway signs, even within Wales.
