The Lovell Telescope dominates the Cheshire landscape south of Manchester Airport. Here it is seen at dusk with the dish pointing north east into the sky.
On Christmas Day 2003 at around 10pm GMT Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope was listening out for signals from the Beagle 2 landing craft. Sadly no signals were ever heard and the craft was declared lost in February 2004.
