The ruins of Cagsaua Church with the perfect cone of Mount Mayon rising up behind is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the Philippines. The church was partly buried in volcanic ash during the eruption of 1814. The plaque, placed by the Philippines Historical Society in 1954, gives the history of the location.

On the day we visited, clouds virtually covered the volcano, which is a perfect cone and has a plume of smoke coming out of the top. We could only get an idea of how it looks on a clear day from the photos being sold to tourists by children. I intend to return to this location in clear weather.
