Every Good Friday the Crucifixion is acted
out in towns and villages all over the Philippines. Actors wear biblical costumes and
men take turns at playing the part of Christ going through the Stations of the Cross.
These scenes were captured in the town of Cainta, near Manila on Good Friday 4 April
2004.
It's quite a spectacle. This subject is also photographed by the Spanish photographer Christina Garcia Rodero. The 'Christ' in the lower left photo is a different from the other three.
