Punk poet John Cooper Clarke made a brief appearance at the Urbis Punk exhibition launch party on Wednesday 25 May 2005. The 'punk troubadour' looks almost identical to how he was 30 years previously, and still wears the same hat and drainpipe trousers covering legs as thin as flagpoles.
In the late 70s I saw John Cooper Clarke perform many times as the support act to punk bands. My favourite poem was the hilarious 'I married a monster from outer space'.
