Book of photographs of New York taken during the 1940's by photographer Andreas Feininger, featuring many famous landmarks including the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings, Staten Island Ferry, Central Park and lots more. Many of the photographs were made using a powerful zoom lens, and explore the interplay of atmosphere, light and the buildings of the city.
This book opened my eyes to the possibilities of photographing cities. The stunning black and white views of New York provide a fascinating insight into this period, and are inspirational in their quality, atmosphere and sense of place.
