AM talk radio station based in New York with a rolling presentation of news and current affairs from New York, the US and round the world. Strapline: 'You Give Us Twenty-Two Minutes, We'll Give You The World'

I listened to WINS on a miniature radio during my summer in New York in 1981. Despite its signature background sound of teleprinter machines, over which the announcers spoke, I found it to be the best news station on the airwaves.
