This footbridge in Pendleton, Salford, over the railway line and canal is known as 'Cock Robin Bridge'. We are looking south towards the railway bridge over Laundry Street. Why did I take this photograph? The subject of this bridge arose in the Manchester Forum - See this page. I already knew the bridge, and had taken test shots of it, but didn't realise it was known by this name. As it was a gloomy, drizzly day, I returned to the bridge and captured it. I have a fascination with gloomy, dismal scenes, which recapture the atmosphere of the old Salford and Manchester that I remember from my childhood.
