This classic Daimler 1950's double decker bus operates the Glasgow City Tour starting in George Square.

It's great to see the memory of Glasgow's old municipal transport colours being kept alive in the era of privatised public tranport. Glasgow and most other British cities (not Edinburgh) lost their municipal transport system as a result of Conservative legislation enacted in 1986. Municipally owned bus services were sold off to private operators, including Stagecoach, which originates in Scotland.
