Walkden Gardens are in the Sale Moor area of Sale (Cheshire / Greater Manchester). The dovecote was removed from its original location, now part of the embankment of the widened M60, and reconstructed in Walkden Gardens. A photograph of the Dovecote under construction in Walkden Gardens is in the book 'Around the M60, Manchester's Orbital Motorway'.

Walkden Gardens are located at the junction of Marsland Rd and Alexandra Road, Sale Moor. See Multimap, though the gardens are not marked.

The dovecote looks wonderful in its new location. Moving a building might seem historically inconsistent, but many buildings have been moved, for example Marble Arch in London. The Walkden Gardens are named after a respected local personality, not Walkden the town.
