Ajman is situated to the north of Sharjah and has, similar to the six other emirates, its own ruler and government. Here we see the khor (harbour) and the traditional style dhows (fishing boars) moored at the quayside. Near the waters edge are the round wire nets used by the fishermen. On the other side of the harbour is the Ajman Kempinski Hotel. Here in Ajman we seem to have moved out of the big city and closer to the traditional lifestyle of the Gulf Arabs.

Ajman Fischerboote Hafen und Kempinski-Hotel
Ajman befindet sich nördlich von Sharjah und hat, wie die sechs anderen Emirate, seinen eigenen Herrscher, und seine eigene Regierung. Hier sehen wir den 'Khor' (Hafen) und die traditionellen Fischerboote - auf arabisch 'Dhow' - die hier angelegt sind. Vor uns liegen die runden Netze der Fischer. Auf der anderen Seite des Khors ist das Ajman Kempinski Hotel. Hier in Ajman haben wir uns der traditionellen Lebensweise der Golfaraber genähert. (Übersetzung von Isabella Turner)
