The east coast of the Emirates is a
region of spectacular panoramic views over sea and mountains. This is the coastline near
Dibba,
the north-easternmost town in the UAE.
These mountains fading away
gradually into the distance, belong to Oman, and a visa is required to visit this area.
The
main part of Oman lies several hundred kilometres south of here. At the very
top of the Musandam peninsula are the Straits of Hormuz, separating the Arabian
peninsula
from Iran.
