Neon signs can be seen everywhere in the towns and cities of the Emirates, a bright and colourful addition to the shops, which stay open every evening till 9 and 10pm. Most signs are in Arabic and English. Here we see a selection of neon signs which I photographed in Al-Ain. In the Arab world, gold is especially prized, and here can see three shops with a suitably 'golden' name: Golden Sheep, Golden Shoe, Golden Ball, Golden Motor. Salam is another popular name - it means 'peace'.

Al-Ain Neonschilder
Neonschilder gibt es überall in den Städten der Emirate, sie leuchten in vielen Farben bis spät in die Nacht hinein. Die Geschäfte sind jeden Abend bis 21.00 und 22.00 Uhr geöffnet. Die meisten Schilder sind auf Arabisch und auf Englisch. Hier sehen wir eine Auswahl von Neonschildern, die ich in Al Ain fotografiert habe. Gold wird besonders geschätzt in der arabischen Welt - so sehen wir hier vier Geschäfte, die einen 'goldenen' Namen haben: Golden Sheep (Schaf), Golden Show, Golden Ball, Golden Motor.
