The Madina Jumeirah is a hotel village modelled on the traditional architecture of Dubai with its randomly placed wind towers. The Burj Al Arab hotel rises up behind the new development which is still under construction.

The Madina Jumeirah tries to recreate the spirit of lost Dubai on a vast scale. Another hotel village which reconstructs the architecture of another time is Portmeirion in North Wales.
