We are standing on the A49 bridge (Wilderspool Causeway London Rd) looking west. The next bridge carries the A56 Chester Road across the ship canal. Further down the canal is the high level railway bridge.

The Manchester Ship Canal offers many superb views. The weather was misty when I took this image at around 6pm on the 3rd of April 2009, giving an 'Adolphe Valette' effect.
