ABOUT DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
EYEWITNESS IN MANCHESTER IS A PRIME EXAMPLE of the pioneering use of digital photography to create a picture-based online magazine.
Most of the earlier photographs in Eyewitness in Manchester were taken with a Nikon SLR camera and captured on Jessops 200 ASA negative film, scanned using the NIkon Coolpix film scanner and enhanced in Photoshop on the Macintosh.
After experimenting from 1998 with a very basic Kodak DCS 100 digital camera and from 1999 with an Agfa E-Photo 1280, I began in May 2000 to use the Nikon Coolpix 990 which completed the transition to all-digital image capture and enhancement. This remarkable camera has provided thousands of superb quality digital images many of which are on display in Eyewitness in Manchester.
I first started using digital imaging methods in October 1994 whilst still working in the Middle East. Since then I have built up an enormous amount of experience and expertise, with a huge portfolio of images.
