Marton Church is black and white design. It dates from
the 14th century and the plaque states that it's Europe's oldest timber-framed
church still in use. It is said to be built on a pre-historic mound. On
the tip of the steeple is a weathercock. It overlooks the A34 25 miles
(40km) south of Manchester.
