St Peters Church in 1997 is a derelict shell. Looking at the tower you might think it has a flat pyramid shape like St Thomas's Church Ardwick but after restoration we see that it had, and has now regained, a tall roof. Things have changed in the space of eight years: The building on the left has disappeared, along with many smaller buildings in Ancoats. New lamp posts shaped like the number '4' have been added. St Peters Church is now secure on the oustide but still empty on the inside. A new use has yet to be confirmed.

EWN says: I don't like the design of the new lampposts as it is not in keeping with the existing character of the area.
