Standing near the Church Inn on the A6 Stockport Road Levenshulme, not a great deal appears to have changed.  The pub itself looks the same as before, the tree has sprouted more leaves and the branches have grown, but the tree on the right appears to have been cut down. The two shops on the corner have changed ownership and colours. The old grey-painted 'Manchester style' street lamps with tapering pole and a 'Toblerone' shaped lantern have been replaced by contemporary black-painted lamp posts with 'contact lens in wok' lanterns.

The new style lights have neither the charm of the old nor the clean functionality the ones they've replaced. EWM says: Put up replica old-style street lamps, as in New York.
