I've just heard via the Salford Star mailing list that there is a proposal to build an upmarket hotel in the middle of Buile Hill Park Salford, the park where the former Lancashire Mining Museum is located.

This doesn't sound like a good idea to me. There is a petition. I can't think of any park in the Manchester area where a hotel has been built in it.

Would a hotel in a public park be a good idea?
