Frankenburg as a first name
I am trying to discover why my late husband's aunt was given the first name of Frankenburg. She was born in Plendleton in 1874. I see there was an Alderman I. Frankenburg at that time. Was he well-known for some particular thing that might have made the baby's parents choose such an odd name for a girl? I see it was a respected name in Manchester around that time. She married a Mr Bell and had a son called Clifford - maybe there might be a family member who would know more. Cissie
